William Alatalo joins BWT Mücke Motorsport for the upcoming season in the Formula 4 Italian Championship, along with two races in the Formula 4 UAE. The 15-year-old will make his debut with the
Berlin-based team on the 2nd and 3rd of February in Abu Dhabi within F4 UAE.
"So far, I've had a great journey in motorsport, which reaches its preliminary highlight in 2018 by getting involved with BWT Mücke Motorsport. I am really looking forward to the upcoming season and am aware of the challenges that await me in both of the Formula 4 championships and I can't wait to tackle them! I would like to leave my own footprints in the successful history of BWT Mücke Motorsport", explained Alatalo.
Alatalo, born and raised in Ilmajoki, Finland, was just seven years old when he drove his first kart race in 2009. One year later, he was already competing in regional Championships with his way
henceforth leading to the Finnish Junior Kart Championship. A fifth place in the Raket-class 2013 was followed by the junior title the next season. Alatalo celebrated his biggest success in the
Finnish Championship by winning the OK junior class in 2016. In 2017, he entered formula racing, scoring one race victory and four further podium places in his debut season in Formula STCC
Nordic, finishing fifth overall.
Alatalo is the third BWT Mücke Motorsport youngster, next to Niklas Krütten and Ido Cohen. "Finland can look back on an impressive number of great athletes and creates new talents with every new generation. William did not only prove that he is quick in every series he competed in, but he is also extremely capable of learning. We will build on that in 2018", added Team Principal Peter Mücke.
The Italian F4 Championship starts at Adria on the 22nd of April 2018.
