At the age of just 15, Jack Doohan lays the foundation for his future in motorsport by joining Prema Theodore Racing for 2018. After impressing in go-kart racing both in his native Australia and on the international stage, the Red Bull Junior Driver will make his single-seater debut with Prema in five rounds between the Italian and German championship.

"To drive for a team as well-respected and successful as Prema in 2018, is something only I could have only dreamt of at the start of 2017 when I arrived in Europe to compete in karts. My experience gained in karts from the age of eight has provided me with a solid foundation, but it’s now time to take my motorsport career to the next level", said Doohan.

In addition, the Gold-Coast born driver will also enter the British series, so as to be perfectly prepared to make a good international breakthrough in 2019. Last but not least, if you are a petrol head and the name Doohan sounds familiar – that is correct. Jack is the son of five-time 500cc MotoGP World Champion Mick Doohan.

"Coming from such a high-profile background in motor racing, I’m sure he will adapt himself really quickly to the new environment. The goal for him is to increase both his mileage and experience to prepare for a high-profile step up in 2019", explained Team Principal Angelo Rosin.
